30-Day Call Center Launch Checklist

A practical sequence for the 30 days before your first full shift, assuming you have a client or a clear first campaign. Each week has owner actions and a gate you should pass before moving on. A printable version is in the [templates](/start-call-center/templates).

Week 1 — Foundations

  • Confirm the campaign: scope, volumes, hours, languages, outcome definitions and payment terms in a signed contract.
  • Confirm legal setup: company registration, required local registrations or licences, data-processing agreement with the client.
  • Confirm the lawful basis and source for any calling data; set up suppression handling.
  • Choose the workspace model and secure premises or the home-working policy.
  • Order internet (primary and backup) — installation lead times are often the longest item.
  • Choose the dialer/contact-center platform and CRM; start accounts or server setup.
  • Request route tests for target destinations.

Week 2 — Infrastructure and hiring

  • Install network: router/firewall, switch, cabling, UPS; configure QoS, VLAN and failover.
  • Set up and harden PCs; install headsets; create user accounts.
  • Configure the dialer: users, roles, campaigns, dispositions, calling hours, recordings, caller ID.
  • Connect the SIP trunk; complete stage 1 and stage 2 route testing.
  • Advertise roles and run interviews with the scorecard; issue offers.
  • Write scripts, the knowledge base and the QA scorecard; get client approval.

Week 3 — Training and dry runs

  • Run induction and compliance training; record attendance and test results.
  • Practice in a training campaign with test numbers only.
  • Test failover: unplug the primary internet; switch voice to the backup route.
  • Test backups and a restore of the dialer/CRM configuration.
  • Agree the daily and weekly report format with the client.

Week 4 — Pilot and go-live

  • Run a low-volume pilot with live supervision and QA on every call.
  • Review results with the client daily; fix scripts, data and settings.
  • Ramp concurrency and volume gradually while watching rejections, audio and abandoned-call rate.
  • Hold the go/no-go review before the first full-capacity shift.

Frequently asked questions

Can a call center be launched in less than 30 days?

Sometimes, if premises, internet and staff already exist. The usual bottlenecks are internet installation, hiring and client approval of scripts — do not skip testing to save time.
