How to Read a VoIP Rate Sheet
What each column on a published rate sheet or CSV export means.
Core columns
- Destination — the country or region name as published by the carrier feed.
- Prefix — the dialing prefix this rate applies to; longer, more specific prefixes take priority over shorter ones for the same destination.
- Rate USD/min and Rate EUR/min — the per-minute rate in both currencies. USD is the source rate; EUR is converted from it at the currently configured exchange rate.
- Billing increment — see "Understanding 1/1, 6/6, 60/1 and 60/60 Billing" for what each value means.
- Effective date — when this rate takes effect. A rate with a future effective date is an announced upcoming change, shown so you can plan ahead.
- Status — whether the listed rate is an increase, decrease or no change versus the previous rate for that prefix.
Longest-prefix matching
When a number is dialed, the rate engine matches it against the longest (most specific) published prefix, not the first one found — this is standard telecom rating practice and is exactly what the cost calculator and rate lookup use internally.
CSV export
The downloadable CSV includes the USD rate, EUR rate, the USD/EUR FX rate used and its effective date, alongside the billing increment and effective date — enough to reconcile a rate sheet against an invoice without contacting support.
